I eat more slowly. I enjoy the world on my walks outside.

I like her style, it engenders a very welcoming group dynamic. She’s a good combination, both very knowledgeable and not too serious.
—Ryan
She encouraged everyone to share their voice and made people feel comfortable when doing so.
—Isabel
The class itself taught me so much about different meditation practices. What I loved was that Augusta did not recommend one over others or try to make us do something specific. She opened up the options for what we could do and gave us the tools to do what we thought was best for us. […] The best part of going to class for me though was being around Augusta and her positive energy.

Augusta’s MBSR class has brightened my life. If you’re someone who feels overwhelmed, deals with anxiety, or has simply been stuck in a rut, this class is a perfect way to find balance and presence, as well as a greater sense of peace within yourself overall. Augusta’s mixture of intimate group classes and public meditation meet-up’s (in addition to separate one-on-one sessions, if you’re interested) is an ideal way to get back on your feet and start feeling like a happier and more-relaxed you. I feel so empowered; the tools to my wellbeing are now in my own hands, which as a gift, is priceless.
Best of all, I believe that one of the main reasons this course is so effective is due to Augusta herself. She has an incredible way with people, and truly makes a point to connect with each and every individual, ensuring that the course serves everyone’s specific needs. Her kind heart, calm demeanor, and deep knowledge of MBSR makes this class what it is. I feel lucky to call her a friend moving forward.
Takeaway: I’d recommend this class to anyone. I looked forward to visiting that place of refuge every week, and was sad when the eight weeks came to a close!

—Nina
More important than being knowledgeable, Augusta was able to make this information approachable and relatable.

The fact that she is not dogmatic is really helpful. Modifying practices or being accepting of shorter duration practices made for an experience that is more likely to be sustainable for me.

I feel much calmer and more grounded, I have more tools for coping with discomfort in all its forms. I think more about the ways I listen to and respond to others.
—Amie
I was amazed at how well the breathing meditations worked for me in terms of relieving stress and physical discomfort. Also, just the simple act of recognizing physical or emotional discomfort and allowing that to be okay offered a very interesting change in my perception.
—Zakai
I start my day with my mediation practice and find my breath — instead of letting anxiety propel me through the day and “finding my breath” later, once I have accomplished enough that I feel able to breathe. I’m surprised by how mindfulness has infiltrated so many parts of my life.
—Eileen
I found the qi gong exercises to be particularly helpful. They helped my body relax. Her style of speaking calmly was nourishing.
—Alana
I was surprised at the relaxation I felt, at my ability to generate some of my own feelings of calm. It was helpful to learn some of the lessons along with the practice, like understanding that resistance to pain only multiplies suffering, that things are ever-changing, and that we will always have visiting feelings, and to greet them with love.
